DOG ORCHID Codonorchis lessonii
|
A single stem of about 15 cm supports a distinctive white flower formed of three long petals centred around inner white segments with purple dots. Likely to be seen on Diddle-dee/ coastal heathland or even in sand or shale areas flowering November to January. Locally common on both East and West Falklands, also found on Fuegia, West and Andean Patagonia and southern Chile.
